Planning Engineer assigned to Ruslan Baysarov’s TEIC Elegest-Kyzyl-Kuragino Railway

MOSCOW, Feb 19 (PRIME) -- The Stroyproekt Institute has won a tender to form a planning engineering team for the Elegest-Kyzyl-Kuragino railway line with a 5.5 billion ruble bid, Tuva Energy Industrial Corporation (TEIC) of Ruslan Baysarov, the holder of a concession deal for the railway line, said on Wednesday.

“The winner will sign a contract for a range of design and survey works, for updating the land planning documentation and other preparatory works necessary to build the Elegest-Kyzyl-Kuragino railway line," TEIC said in a statement.

The bid is 293 million rubles below the initial price of the tender. The works are to be done by August 2021.

The Elegest-Kyzyl-Kuragino railway line is being built under a concession deal between JSC TEIC Kyzyl-Kuragino and the Russian Federation, and is part of a comprehensive infrastructure project implemented by Baysarov’s TEIC.

The 410-kilometer line will be Tuva’s first, linking the region to the Trans-Siberian Railway. The daily capacity of the railway will stand at 19 train pairs, and annual cargo at 15 million tonnes.

The tender was organized by Russian Railways, the general contractor for a large-scale project, of which the Elegest-Kyzyl-Kuragino line is a significant component.
